Office Christmas Party Checklist: A Simple Plan for Singapore Teams

Somebody in every office ends up "in charge of Christmas". If that's you this year, this checklist is for you. It goes from four weeks out to the afternoon itself and covers the bits people forget: dietary needs, order cut-offs, delivery minimums and who brings the cutlery.

It's written for office parties of roughly 10 to 30 people held in a pantry, meeting room or open-plan corner. Bigger events are covered further down.

Four weeks out: agree on the basics

  • Pick the date and time. Lunch parties are easier on everyone's evenings. Friday afternoons fill up fast in December, so lock yours early.
  • Get a headcount range. "About 20" is enough to start. Firm it up the week before.
  • Agree the budget per head. Ask finance whether it's per person or a fixed pot, and whether delivery is included.
  • Book the space. Check how much table space you'll actually have. A spread for 20 needs more counter than most pantries expect.
  • Decide: meal or mingling? A sit-down lunch needs a proper main and something warm. A mingling party can lean on finger food you can eat standing up.

Three weeks out: ask about dietary needs

Send a one-line form or message: "Any allergies or food you don't eat?" Then check the replies against what you plan to order.

A few things worth knowing if you're ordering our Christmas bundles:

  • Shellfish: the mee siam in The Kampung Christmas comes with prawns. The Kueh Pie Tee has no prawns.
  • Nuts: the roasted almond pilaf is topped with toasted almonds and fried shallots (no raisins). Our popiah and Kueh Pie Tee come with grated peanuts on the side, so guests can leave them out.
  • Vegetarian colleagues: with the popiah, they can simply leave out the egg, sambal chilli and garlic. For anything else, WhatsApp us on 6243 2118 before you order.
  • Halal: please read the note under the bundles below before you order, and WhatsApp us on 6243 2118 if you have questions.

Two weeks out: choose the food

Order by headcount, not by guesswork. Our two Christmas bundles come in sizes for 10, 20 and 30 people. Bigger sizes add more dishes, not just more of the same, so a 30-person table gets more variety than a 10-person one.

  • The Kampung Christmas ($250.30 for 10, $473.70 for 20, $705.00 for 30). Local favourites with something warm: DIY popiah, mee siam with prawns, torched teriyaki chicken with roasted almond pilaf, a jumbo pot of mushroom soup and muah chee. At 20 it adds Kueh Pie Tee; at 30 it also adds salmon in mushroom kombu sauce, tomato basil soup and Teochew orh nee.
  • Salmon & Popiah Feast ($262.90 for 10, $576.60 for 20, $787.10 for 30). Grilled salmon in mushroom kombu sauce on warm roasted almond pilaf, with DIY popiah, Kueh Pie Tee and orh nee. At 20 it adds mushroom soup and smoked 'Peking' duck wraps; at 30 it also adds laksa, torched teriyaki chicken and muah chee.

These two seasonal bundles are not halal. They are produced in our MUIS halal-certified kitchen.

Both bundles cost 3% less than buying the same dishes separately. You can compare them side by side on our Christmas party sets page. For dish ideas beyond the bundles, see our local Christmas party food ideas.

Headcount in between sizes? Choose the size below and add a set or two, or the size above if your team eats well. The Party Planner works out quantities for any headcount.

For regular team lunches beyond Christmas, see our office party food options. For company-wide orders, see corporate catering.

One week out: lock in the order and delivery

  • Firm up the headcount and place the order. Both Christmas bundles need 48 hours' notice and are available on any date from 1 December to 1 January.
  • Check the delivery minimum. Delivery normally needs a $50 food order. On 24–25 December and 31 December–1 January, the minimum is $100. The delivery fee doesn't count toward it, and every Christmas bundle size is already above it.
  • Christmas Eve or Christmas Day party? Order by 22 December for the 24th and by 23 December for the 25th.
  • Self-collection from our Bedok kitchen is an option if someone can pick up, with no minimum order.
  • Delivery area: we deliver islandwide, except Sentosa, Tuas South, Jurong Island, Airline Road, Airport Cargo Road and the Botanic Gardens.
  • Cutlery isn't included. Add disposable cutlery (sold in 10-person sets) at checkout, or raid the pantry.
  • Tell building security or reception that a food delivery is coming, and give the driver a contact number that will actually be answered.

On the day: set up in 15 minutes

Sweet sauce, crispy bits, spring onions and cucumber set out in bowls before guests arrive

  • Clear the table first. Put the DIY popiah at one end so people can roll without blocking the hot food.
  • Hot dishes come ready to serve in black plastic containers. Line them up with a serving spoon in each.
  • Show one person how to roll. Our popiah skins are handmade and springy, so they hold a generous filling without tearing. Once one person rolls, everyone else copies.
  • Fill Kueh Pie Tee just before eating so the shells stay crisp.
  • Dessert last. Keep the orh nee or muah chee aside until the mains are done.
  • Have containers ready for leftovers. Ask colleagues to bring their own if your office is trying to cut waste.

Bigger party? 50 guests or more

For a D&D, family day or whole-company party, combine two bundles or request a live station quote. Live stations should be booked at least 1 to 2 weeks ahead.
