New Year's Eve Party Food in Singapore: Easy Ideas for a Countdown at Home
Hosting the countdown at home this year? A New Year's Eve party isn't like other parties: it runs late, people arrive at different times, and nobody wants to be in the kitchen at 11.55pm. The trick is to plan the food in rounds: a proper meal early, bites that guests put together later, and something sweet for midnight.
New Year delivery at a glance
- Delivery on 31 December and 1 January: $100 minimum order (food only).
- Delivery fee: flat $18.
- Self collection from our Central Kitchen, Bedok North: no minimum.
- Christmas bundles: 48 hours' notice.
- Pick your date in the cart to see what's available for your order.
Plan the night in two rounds
- Round one, dinner (7–9pm): a warm main, a carb and something to roll or share, while everyone's hungry.
- Round two, the countdown (10pm–midnight): bite-sized food people can eat standing up, plus dessert.
Planning in two rounds keeps the table from getting crowded, and gives the night a second wind.
Food guests put together themselves
For the later part of the night, choose dishes guests assemble or fill just before eating:
- Popiah, rolled to order. Guests roll their own when they're ready to eat. Our skins are handmade and springy, so they hold a generous filling without tearing.
- Kueh Pie Tee. Fill the crisp cups just before eating so they stay crunchy. Ours have no prawns. Our guide is 2–3 pieces per person.
- Smoked 'Peking' duck wraps. Wrapped at the table in mini handmade skins, they're easy to eat standing up.

Finger food for the countdown
Once dinner's cleared, put out food that's ready to eat and easy to pick up with one hand:
- Fortune Finger Food Platter: chicken drummets, vegetable spring rolls and fishballs with sambal mayo and tomato sauce, ready to serve. Mini Box A (drummets and spring rolls) or Mini Box B (drummets and fishballs) $47.20, Mini Box C (drummets only) $49.50, Regular Box $139. Available on 31 December and 1 January; order at least 48 hours ahead.
- Popiah Rolls: hand-rolled with our handmade skins, if you'd rather skip the rolling. $3.20 a roll, minimum 100 rolls. Best eaten within 2 hours of delivery.
- Satay Set (31 December only): 50 grilled chicken satay sticks with peanut sauce and ketupat, $54. Order at least 48 hours ahead. Satay isn't available on public holidays, so it can't be ordered for New Year's Day.
For bites guests put together themselves, the Kueh Pie Tee Set starts at $35 (30 pieces) and the Smoked 'Peking' Duck Set at $37 (15 pieces).
A warm main for the dinner round
- Grilled salmon in mushroom kombu sauce on roasted almond pilaf (toasted almonds and fried shallots, no raisins).
- Torched teriyaki chicken.
- A pot of soup or noodles: hearty mushroom soup, mee siam (with prawns) or laksa.
Hot dishes come ready to serve in black plastic containers.

Something sweet for midnight
- Teochew orh nee: smooth yam paste, good in small bowls.
- Muah chee: chewy, peanutty and easy to share while you wait for the clock.

Order dates for New Year's Eve
- The Christmas bundles need 48 hours' notice, so for a 31 December party, order by 29 December.
- The bundles are also available for 1 January (New Year's Day). Pick your date in the cart: the date picker shows the dates you can still order for.
- Delivery on 31 December and 1 January needs a $100 minimum food order (it's $50 on most days). The delivery fee doesn't count toward it, and every bundle size is above it.
- Self-collection from our Bedok kitchen is also available, with no minimum order.
Countdown hosting tips
- Stagger the food. Put the bites out after dinner, not with it.
- Cutlery isn't included. Use your own, or add disposable cutlery at checkout.
- Clear a counter for round two so people can graze without crowding the dinner table.
- Keep containers handy for any leftovers.
